May 9, 2020
At Salish Seaside RV Haven we have been reviewing our policies and procedures to best navigate these uncertain times. Currently, most of the measures introduced in the March 23 update are still in place, and we have refined and introduced some new temporary policies. We are closely monitoring the situation and adhering to the advice of the Provincial and Federal Governments. Please see below for more details.
Currently and for the foreseeable future, travel to Canada will be restricted for all international travellers. These current restrictions prohibit travellers from entering Canada for non-essential travel. To read more about the restrictions and exemptions, please visit the Canadian Government website under “At Canadian Borders”: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/canadas-reponse.html
International Reservations (excluding U.S.)
We have made the difficult decision to pro-actively cancel all international reservations (excluding U.S.) prior to July 31, 2020. A refund will be issued directly and a receipt emailed to all affected guests (this process takes some time). If requested, the funds can be left on file for up to one year of the original check in date. Please note, we are not accepting any new International reservations for the remainder of 2020 or until further notice.
At this stage, we are not accepting any new reservations from the U.S for the remainder of 2020 or until further notice. We are strongly recommending that non-essential travellers from the U.S. cancel their reservations with us prior to June 30,2020. The safety and wellbeing of our current guests, staff and local community is our primary concern.
With the slight easing of restrictions, we are lifting our ‘essential travel only’ policy but would like to remind all customers to travel with caution and mindfulness. We are currently accepting new reservations from Vancouver Island residents only until June 30 or until further notice. Unless, travel is deemed essential. Please note that our Clubhouse, washroom & shower facilities remain closed for the foreseeable future or until further notice.
As a small business, we want to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers, industry partners and members of the local community for your support and understanding during this crisis.

Effective immediately, we are no longer taking reservations for any non-essential travel until further notice. We do however understand that bringing your own RV is one of the safer options for some of our guests who have essential needs to be in Victoria (i.e. medical appointments). Existing reservations will be upheld but we strongly urge all non-essential travel reservations prior to May 1st to cancel, those that do will receive a full refund. We are monitoring the situation daily, we will keep you up to date as things progress, and on our operations post-May 1.
Over the past number of weeks Salish Seaside RV Haven has been increasing the measures to reduce the risks of Covid 19 to our staff and guests. The measures to date are:
- The check-in office and gift shop are operating a locked door policy. Staff are onsite between 9-3pm daily – guests are asked to call the office (250 590-5995) and not have face-to-face interactions with our staff while around the park.
- We have closed the communal area in the Clubhouse.
- We have intensified cleaning and disinfecting procedures across the park.
- Effective March 23rd guests will no longer have access to the washrooms and showers.
- The laundry room will remain available, but we ask every guest to wipe down the machines after use (supplies provided).
- Management are available to assist if guests are required to self-isolate.
- We are monitoring our actions daily and will take further measures as required.
Please don’t hesitate to call the office if you have any questions.
From all the staff at Salish Seaside RV Haven, we want thank you for your on-going support and patience during this challenging time. Remember to keep your distance, wash your hands and most importantly of all promote kindness and understanding.
Have a good day and stay safe!
